Following an enforcement action by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in January 2015, in which the bureau accused JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo and now defunct Maryland-based title company Genuine Title of taking illegal kickbacks as part of a marketing “scheme,” Wells and Genuine Title also faced a class-action based on the accusations.
